Writing the Results. The results section should state the findings of the research arranged in a logical sequence without bias or interpretation. To be accepted by referees and cited by readers, papers must do more than simply present a chronological account of the research work.
San Francisco Edit; Ng, K. If you find that you have written any sentences in your research paper in the passive voice anywhere other than in the results section, it is a good rule of thumb to go back and do a passive-to-active conversion.
Figures, tables and graphs are useful methods for gathering a great deal of information into one place that can then be mentioned in the content of your article.
The goal of this section is to report the results without any type of subjective interpretation. If you feel you cannot or need not do more than list items, consider using a table or perhaps a schematic diagram rather than a paragraph of text. Do not include tables and figures if you are not going to talk about them in the body text of your results section.
A systematic description of your results, highlighting for the reader observations that are most relevant to the topic under investigation. Do not repeat it in your results section.
